HB stands for Huntington Beach, California, in Orange County. The brand uses the shorthand because that is what people here say, but every page title, heading, meta description and opening paragraph on this site spells the city out in full.
There is a practical reason for that. "HB" carries no geographic meaning to somebody who has just moved to Orange County, and none at all to a search engine. There is also a Huntington Park in California, and Huntingtons in New York, West Virginia, Indiana and Connecticut, all of which turn up in the same autocomplete results. Writing the city out in full is the only way to be unambiguous about which one this is.

Both mistakes come from summarising search results rather than reading pages. We read the pages.
What we will not do
- Invent a permit threshold. The City of Huntington Beach publishes no scope list for cabinet work, so we quote the state exemption and tell you to confirm your scope.
- Claim a climate zone we have not verified. The Wood Handbook maps its three moisture zones on a figure we have not read, so we quote the measured Los Angeles station data instead.
